Shenanigans
12595 Sollace M. Freeman Hwy., Sewanee, Tenn. 37375
The Campus “tavern”.  Short-order food, beer by the pitcher and recorded music of dubious quality in a laid-back setting featuring deli fare around picnic tables marked with the initials of many Sewanee alumni.  A good place for late-night gatherings after the 10:30 “no noise” rule at DuBose.

Julia’s Fine Foods

Local and organic fare. Eclectic bistro-style restaurant with homemade daily specials.

Monteagle

Highpoint House
224 E Main St
Monteagle, TN 37356
Directly across Highway 41 from DuBose is an upscale restaurant housed in a handsome stone house which was built by Al Capone for his mistress.  It seems that Monteagle was a good stopping point between Chicago and south Florida in the days when Highway 41 was the major north-south route.

Jim Oliver's Smokehouse
850 W Main St
Monteagle, TN 37356
Circa-1960 log cabin spot featuring smoked meats, fried green tomatoes, fried chicken & more.

Dave's Modern Tavern
38 W Main St
Monteagle, TN 37356
Dave’s Modern Tavern offers gourmet food without a stuffy atmosphere in lovely Monteagle, Tenn. Chef David James can create and cook  the best regional dishes from across the country. Whether customers are in the mood for some of the best crab cakes they’ve ever tasted, or BBQ that can’t be beaten, Dave’s got something for everybody!  We also offer steaks, fresh seafood; including oysters,  lamb, and duck.  Customers can relax and enjoy a meal in the dining room area or settle in at the bar and enjoy with entertainment including a pool table and several tv's. The menu changes to reflect the availability of the freshest seasonal foods. “Like” the Tavern’s facebook page so that you can be updated on the weekly specials.  The bar boasts a huge selection of beers, over 130 in fact, and an extensive wine list by the bottle or the glass. The bar is also stocked with a vast selection of premium and unique liquors.

Mi Casa

If you are hiking the trails or camping by the waterfalls, the bakery is just a few minutes from Foster Falls. A great place to get the extra energy from handmade cookies and snack cakes. Try the Rosemary/Olive Oil bread! (This is a delightful drive, too - curvy mountain roads and great vistas.)
