The Sewanee Church Music Conference was founded in 1951, and has since become a leader in continuing education for liturgical church musicians. The opportunity not only to learn new skills and refresh old ones, but to share experiences and ideas with colleagues from across the country is invaluable. Participants in the conference are provided the opportunity of working with world class professionals in the fields of choral music and organ performance, through rehearsals, masterclasses, and reading sessions.
Located on the picturesque campus of The University of the South in Sewanee, TN, the conference is situated amidst some of the most inspiring natural settings available, and enjoys venues which include the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Chapel of the Apostles on the School of Theology campus, remodeled and modern residence halls, and the Gothic splendor of the University's All Saints' Chapel - the setting for Friday afternoon Choral Evensong and the Festival Eucharist on Sunday morning. The conference is also the perfect setting for meaningful social events and relaxed fellowship, as well as delicious cuisine served on the university campus.
