FAQ

The Sewanee Church Music Conference was founded in 1951, and since then it has been a leader in continuing education for liturgical church musicians.  The opportunity not only to learn new skills and refresh old ones but also to share experiences and ideas with colleagues from across the country is invaluable. The conference has extended its presence throughout the last two decades through this website and in Facebook groups, which are active all year long.

The conference is located amidst some of the most picturesque and inspiring settings available. Our home is the picturesque campus of The University of the South.  Venues include the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Chapel of the Apostles on the School of Theology campus, the newly remodeled residence halls,  and the Gothic splendor of the University's All Saints' Chapel - the setting for Friday afternoon Choral Evensong and the Festival Eucharist on Sunday morning.
